1. When should I book?
I recommend booking your family session as soon as you feel we're a good fit.
My weekend and school holiday slots book up quickly so get in touch as soon as you're ready to secure your spot.
2. What should we wear?
I always suggest wearing warm neutral colours to keep all the emphasis on you and your crew. Once you book in I will send you my style and prep guide to help you and your family get ready for shoot day.
3. How long will the session take?
Most sessions take 2 hours to allow us to get a good mixture of shots. Your photography session will be the only one I book in for the day so I have plenty of time to focus on you and your family.
4. What will my session be like?
My natural approach means I keep things relaxed and genuine. Sessions are very much mama-focused and child-led meaning we go with the flow and capture family life as it is, right now. As we chat, giggle and play with the kids I will click away to ensure I'm authentically capturing your motherhood story. There will be some gentle guidance so the light falls beautifully but it will be spontaneous and candid from there on in. No cheesy smiles here. Instead think nose rubs, tickle time and terrible jokes!
5.Is my home enough?
You are a mum. Family life is real. So there is NO expectation to have a perfect home. All we need is a room with a window to make beautiful keepsake photos of you and your crew.
To keep all the focus on you and your family I would suggest having a tidy and declutter before your session. More help can be found in my style and prep guide once you've booked in with me.
6. What if my children play up?
Kids will be kids so let's embrace their unique quirks and unbounding energy! There may be giggling fits or meltdowns but that's life, isn't it And that's the beauty of in-home lifestyle photoshoots. They are a wonderful mix of unscripted lifestyle and gentle guidance that allows for the everyday moments that make beautifully relaxed, connected and meaningful images of you and your children.
FYI, I was an educator for over 17 years, working within the primary, secondary and specialist education sectors. I also have a PGCE in Autism Studies so I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to entertain the kids and keep them on side.
7. I'm apprehensive about having my photo taken
Most people, including me, feel unsure about having their photograph taken. Let me reassure you by saying when you choose Little Bodhi Photography you will have someone to gently guide you through the whole process. From the booking to the photography session to the gallery reveal. I will share my comprehensive prep and style guide to help you prepare for the shoot day. And on the day of the session, I will use a mix of unscripted lifestyle and gentle guidance to make sure we get beautifully relaxed, connected and meaningful images of you and your family.
8. When will I receive my images?
You will receive a sneak peek of your photoshoot within 7 working days. Your private online proofing gallery will be available to view within 2-3 weeks of the photoshoot. Here you will be able to select your favourite images and I will then go ahead and fully edit them for you. Within 3 weeks of your selections, you will be able to download, share and print your chosen keepsake photographs.
9. Are you insured?
Absolutely! All of my equipment is covered and I am fully insured with public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
10. Can we include the grandparents?
Absolutely! These sessions are designed to include mama and her immediate family members. If you'd like to include grandparents, that's great. I ask for £25 per additional family member.
